High Volume Leather Goods Programs
For buyers running large-scale leather goods programs — 1,000 to 10,000+ units per order — we offer dedicated production scheduling, material pre-procurement, phased delivery, and volume pricing structures designed for repeat business.
What qualifies as a high-volume program?
A high-volume program is any order or recurring order series that exceeds our standard production scale. Typically, this means:
- 1,000–5,000 units per order: Requires dedicated production scheduling and pre-procurement of leather and hardware to ensure material consistency across the batch.
- 5,000–10,000+ units: May require phased production and delivery (e.g., 3,000 units in Month 1, 3,000 in Month 2) to manage quality control effectively.
- Recurring quarterly or seasonal programs: Repeat orders with stable specifications where we maintain a rolling production schedule aligned to the buyer's inventory cycle.
High-volume programs are common for wholesale distributors, e-commerce brands with established sales velocity, and corporate gifting companies with large annual procurement budgets.
How we handle high-volume orders
Material pre-procurement
For large orders, we pre-procure leather from our tannery sources to ensure batch consistency. This is important because leather is a natural material — colour, texture, and thickness can vary between batches. Pre-procurement ensures all material for the order comes from the same lot.
Dedicated production scheduling
High-volume orders are assigned dedicated production slots in our manufacturing network. This ensures capacity is reserved and the order does not compete with other projects for production resources.
Phased production and delivery
For very large orders, we recommend phased production with quality checkpoints between phases. This allows us to catch and correct any issues before the full run is complete, and lets the buyer receive partial shipments to start selling while the balance is in production.
Volume pricing
Per-unit pricing decreases as quantity increases due to better material utilisation, reduced setup time per unit, and production efficiencies. Volume pricing is confirmed during quotation based on the total quantity commitment.
Quality control for large batches
Quality control is more critical in high-volume production because the cost of a systematic defect multiplied across thousands of units is significant. Our approach includes:
- Pre-production sample: A production sample (not just a prototype) is made using the actual materials and construction methods that will be used in bulk. This becomes the reference standard.
- In-line inspection: Checks during production at cutting, stitching, and assembly stages. Any deviation from the approved sample is flagged and corrected before it propagates through the batch.
- AQL-based final inspection: Final inspection uses an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) sampling methodology. We can follow AQL 2.5 (standard) or AQL 1.5 (tighter) depending on the buyer's requirements.
- Pre-shipment photography: Representative units from the finished batch are photographed and shared with the buyer for approval before dispatch.
Lead times for high-volume programs
| Volume range | Typical lead time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000–3,000 units | 4–6 weeks | Single production run |
| 3,000–5,000 units | 5–8 weeks | May require phased delivery |
| 5,000–10,000 units | 6–10 weeks | Phased production recommended |
| 10,000+ units | Confirmed per enquiry | Material pre-procurement required |
Lead times exclude sampling (typically 1–2 weeks). Material pre-procurement may add 1–2 weeks for non-standard leather types.
